Hello, I’m Noor
I work as a project manager and am a parent. An expat currently living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in our long-term plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Kind Orchard Nest
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Netherlands continues, along with the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue to document what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Noor
